The experience
Sunset Surf Villas sits on Pulau Simakakang in the central Mentawais, fifteen minutes by boat from Tuapejat, close enough to reach easily, far enough that the crowds never follow.
This is the anti-schedule surf trip. The boat is yours, the chef is yours, the day is yours. Tikus breaks in front of the bar deck; eight more waves sit within a twenty-five minute run, from beginner walls to pro-only slabs.
The villa runs on solar: no generator hum, just waves on the reef and geckos in the palms. Two en-suite double bedrooms and a loft sleep up to six, and every evening ends the same way: 180 degrees of sunset from the viewing deck, plates coming out of the kitchen.

A dedicated private boat and driver on standby. Fifteen to twenty-five minutes to nine different breaks. You call the sessions.
The kitchen
Full restaurant and kitchen with an in-house chef cooking Indonesian and Western, three times a day.
Off the grid
Solar-powered, generator-free. The loudest thing on the island is the reef.
Getting here
Fly to Padang, then the Mentawai Fast ferry to Tuapejat (3 hours: Wed & Fri 7am, Sun 10am). We handle the rest.
